This is a tune I wrote a while ago for an on-line project called the Purple Tapes. It was a group of musicians who were a little perturbed about "The Artist Formerly Known As . . ." being very litigous about his music on-line. So they wanted to have a bunch of people write original songs with the same titles as his songs to make finding his stuff more difficult on-line. And since song titles are not copyrightable or trademarkable there's nothing he could do about it.
I honestly didn't really care too much about the cause of the project. For me it was just a nudge to write a song and a title to start with, which is 90% of the battle half the time (at least for me).
This one seemed to be the most liked among the songs I submitted for this project. So I figured this would be the best to release here first.
lyrics
In Love
VERSE:
In love, am I in love
In love, am I in love
I want so much to say it
But it's something I'm not sure of
Help me, help me to see
Help me, see who I am to be
It's so hard to know the truth
Words just screaming to be free
CHORUS:
In love, is it something from above?
When you feel it in your soul, does it make you lose control?
In love, is it right in front of me?
Am I too blind to see
VERSE:
I know, I've never felt this way
And I don't want this to ever go away
I've waited so long, baby
Just to hear you say . . .
CHORUS:
That you're in love, standing right in front of me
Eye to eye now I can see, that this was meant to be
I'm in love, how could this be wrong
I've waited for so long
